A client handed me a damaged matching network and explained that the unit was notorious for overheating. With lead times on new equipment exceeding one year, the only solution was to cool that unit down. I designed a custom water block with an integrated copper heat plate (not shown due to IP restrictions) and push to connect fittings. Time between being handing the damaged unit and delivery of first unit was around two weeks. Wallace Design now supplies the cooling block, installation hardware, and thermal paste to the client in kit form. Each unit having been pressure tested to 150psi overnight, the kit can be installed in minutes without ever leaving the fab. An uncooled version for use with a network analyzer is also available.
